Here are some tips and tricks for using Blackboard in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math classes:

  • If you use LaTex, there is a product called MathJax that will allow you to include LaTex markup in your Blackboard content. (live demo)
  • Blackboard Learning Modules (Video Tutorial) (documentation) can be used for tutorials such as lab safety, how to use special equipment, etc.

For more robust tutorials, contact Academic Technologies, who can help you build a tutorial using SoftChalk.

  • A lab notebook can be used, with the Blackboard wiki.  An example can be seen at the University of Leicester. This has not been done at Cornell to our knowledge; however, there are instructors at Cornell using the LabArchives service for this purpose.
